*Job Summary*

•        The Technical Lead (TL) coordinates a team’s technology capability
to orchestrate effective solutions. The TTL is a subject matter expert in
the technology used to address business problems. The TTL works closely
with the software engineering team, infrastructure, QA, and product
organization to move solutions from idea to market. He or she works closely
with the architects to evaluate vendor systems, develop frameworks, and
champion standards-based solutions. The TTL works closely with the Manager
of Application Development to assign work, identify gaps, evaluate the
performance of and mentor the development team, and promote a culture of
trust and software engineering excellence.



*Essential Functions*

•        Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow,
logical processes, hardware and operation system environments, interfaces
with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
Maintain responsibility for the design documentation for a project.

•        Analyze software design requirements to determine feasibility,
cost, time, and compatibility with current solutions, architectural
standards, and the legacy environment.

•        Consult with clients to prototype, refine, test, and debug
programs to meet requirements.

•        Architect Enterprise-level solutions.

•        Manage target processes.

•        Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from
others regarding the systems and technologies they support.

•        Lead and mentor other developers within the team on ownership of
products/problems/resource and technology solutions. Provide constructive
feedback to other developers in a positive manner.

•        Possess basic project management skills, primarily the ability to
provide accurate estimates and have a reasonable familiarity of the status
of the team’s development tasks.

•        Weigh the pros and cons of various technical approaches. Provide
solid recommendations for meeting business objectives.

•        Lead developer meetings, stand-up meetings, multi-team meetings,
business partner meetings, and cadence releases.

•        Perform other duties as needed or assigned.



*Education and Experience*

•        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field required;
advanced degree(s) preferred

•        Senior-level software engineer (7+ years’ ever increasing
technical responsibility in multiple Microsoft stack software engineering
shops such as .NET Framework, SQL Server development and tools, MSMQ, MVC,
Web Services, etc.)

•        Experience with TDD automation, scripting, and other quality
assurance tools and approaches (e.g., Selenium, FITness)

•        Development experience with all areas of an n-tier system (UI,
business logic, messaging, ESB/EAI processing, database structures, stored
procedures, etc.)

•        Working knowledge of Microsoft networking, servers, and WAN
infrastructure

•        Deep competency developing system requirements from interviews and
business artifacts (technical requirements definition from formal business
requirements, user stories, or simulations)

•        Excellent interpersonal skills with users, business analysts, and
architects

•        Structured methods of conducting the design and analysis phases of
the development cycle (object oriented analysis, object oriented design,
etc.)

•        Experience using prototyping or simulation as a method for
collecting requirements

•        Proficient use of all languages supported within the team

•        SDLC discipline and an unfailing commitment to quality

•        Working knowledge developing to APIs and RPCs

•        Experience conducting software feasibility and risk analysis
studies

•        Desired: Experience with Angular JS, Twitter Bootstrap or other
responsive technologies

•        Desired: Large-scale design and implementation skills with broad
and deep experience in algorithms, service bus, and multi-threaded
programming (5+ years’ C/C++/C#/JAVA/etc. experience)

Desired: Experience in an Agile/SCRUM/etc. shop with a test-driven approach
