After upgrading my PVR to DirectFB 0.9.18 (yay!) and the CVS version of mplayer, I am trying to use:
$ mplayer -vo dfbmga:buffermode=triple:fieldparity=top test.avi But I am finding the CPU usage and frame droppage quite high. If I leave off the "fieldparity" sub-option, CPU usage is back to normalish for mplayer on this hardware. The difference is about 45% CPU without the fieldparity option and over 80% (80% was all available CPU at the time, so in fact it is probably even higher) with the fieldparity sub-option.
