This might be a stupid question,
But would it be possible to produce a DirectFB Driver that actually just wrapped the X Drivers, without using X. Providing what the X Drivers need to function, but giving accelerated support for cards like NVidia, ATI, etc using their proprietary Binary only X drivers?
Just a thought, might be something that can be done.
Better yet, wrap the windows drivers.....
