Hi

at [EMAIL PROTECTED] we're currently using GTKDFB 2.0.9 to run the graphical frontend to the debian installer: the frontend has grown a lot during last months (it's getting every day closer to relase) and we're now working on usability issues. During frontend testing we ran into a couple of bugs that shows up only with some versions of GTKDFB, here they are

-Using a GtkTreeView it's impossible to scroll to a row and focus on it using gtk_tree_view_scroll_to_cell() (this bug shows up in GTKDFB 2.09; it doesn't show up in GTKDFB 2.8.3 nor GTKX)

-Even if gtk_tree_view_set_enable_search () is correctly setted it's not possible to jump to a row pressing a key. This bug shows up in GTKDFB 2.0.9 and 2.8.3 and the following error message is displayed Gdk-DirectFB-WARNING **: gdk_display_request_selection_notification Unimplemented function

we're using GTKDFB 2.0.9 since is already packaged and we haven't, ATM, the energies needed to package an entire GTKDFB 2.8.3 set of libraries. We plan to switch to GTKDFB 2.8.3 on some months, as soon we have energies needed to pack everyting into udebs.

Mike, do tou think you can fix those bugs in GTKDFB 2.8.3 for future use and in 2.0.9 too for current use? I know those bugreports seem silly, but being able to scroll a treeview to the selected row and being able to select a row just pressing a key would mean a lot for the graphical debian installer project.

thanks

Attilio

ps

tou can grab the latest ISO at
