Hi,

sorry for my rare replies these days, but I'm on a three weeks business
trip in the valley til Nov 20th. I'll answer more though soon.

I've got another proposal for HD based extensions a few weeks/months ago
and just need to merge your suggestions with it if not 100% congruent :)
