I know the tab past error in examples/filesel, what I mentioned was not it.
Maybe the examples in gtkmm may show, which are in examples/book/dialogs directory.
When a dialog open, it does't get the input focus.

So this is not a bug in the directfb port I do agree that this is not
the correct behavior
but you need to file a bug under the mainline gtk.
