Hi there!

I'd like to play videos using mplayer via directfb (multicore, mga
g400). This works fine so far with -vo directfb.

Now, I'd like to draw alphablended menus over the fullscreen mplayer
video. So I tried to move a terminal or something in front of mplayer
but whatever I take, it gets painted over by mplayer.

I also tried different layer ids for the -vo option but that didn't help
either.

I'd like to use mplayer instead of dfbsee since I need various strange
stuff like deinterlacer, DVB-TS via http streaming, ac3 output, etc.

The next thing is: I have to restart mplayer but the menu mustn't
disappear even if mplayer isn't running.

So I guess there's no easy solution with no or only a little
mplayer-vo-dfb patching?

Could you give me some hints on how to do this?
I don't understand the layer/surface/window stuff completely yet, but I
guess I have to make mplayer draw to the surface of a (fullscreen?)
window that's lowered underneath the menu window?

Thanks in advance!
