AFAIK: For basic DFB, linux or ucLinux OS, x86 Hardware and some others(?) supported. Linux Framebuffer driver required. For accellerated operation native DFB driver for the GFX Hardware is required. To run recent versions of DFB you will need a recent linux kernel 2.6.
