I've compiled MythTV with support for DirectFB, and it works with my  
nvidia card, but it doesn't work with my Matrox G200 card, so I don't  
know if the problem lies with mythth or DirecrFB. Other programs,  
e.g. xine, works just fine. I get the following output when trying to  
run mythtv:
