I have some code that uses double buffered surfaces. We flip them and it cals fbdev->pan and the flip is very fast. works very well. I then added Windows (primarily to support a cursor). I now create a Double Buffered surface for a Window and do the same calls.
However it now appears that I am blitting each surface of the window onto the Framebuffer. It seems that I now have a double buffered surface and a single buffered framebuffer. This does not work as well as blitting takes far longer than panning. Does anyone understand this? Any help, insight or comments much appreciated.
