I got these messages in /var/log/messages.

Seems like intelfb driver doesn't like mode switching; anyway to tell
directfb not to change mode?
Both accel=0 and noaccel does not seems to have any effect.

AFAICS you should use accel=0 instead of noaccel here.

intelfb has refused the requested mode for some reason. That is strange
as the code does this:
1. get the current mode
2. clear accel_flag in the mode
3. set the mode

Do you get any messages in dmesg from intelfb?
