hi eugene, do you have Config_framebuffer_console enabled in your kernel? When i enable it and insmod em8xxxfb.ko, i get a segmentation fault.
If I don't, I am able to insmod the em8xxxfb.ko but not able to run ditectfb sample (test) applications. I get "mambolfb in setcoloreg" error and dfB aborts. This error is probably coming from setcoloreg function in em8xxx_fb.c file (via printk. Can printk be called here?). I have applied the patch that you mentioned in this thread.
