hi,
  last year, we did the same work as you ,but not on x11. just on DFB.
  you can do the graphic primitive operation using gles1.1 or 2.0 shader.
  but you need to render the primitive to the system core's surface.
  
  in x11, i think ,in egl, you can render your primitive to pixmap surface, 
then to get the native pixmap
and copy the pixmap to the x11's window .
