There are many reasons. The code lacks proper formatting, it has legacy
compat macros all over the place and it does not make use of the latest
and greatest kernel features. In order to bring it mainline, a major
part of it would need be rewritten. I always wanted to have a closer
look at it but didn't find the time to do so yet. Volounteers first,
please :)
