I've been using DirectFB 1.4-9 for quite some time now (and DirectFB 1.0-1 before that). I decided it was time to move up to the latest 1.4.x maintenance release, however it has proven difficult.
I see in the notes that 1.4-13 -> 1.4-14 was a big internal change. This corresponds to the number of issues I've encountered trying to go past 1.4-13 to 1.4-17. A few issues, but certainly not all of them, in 1.4-17: CreateWindow is no longer supported in DLSCL_EXLUSIVE. EnableCursor causes a SegFault when set immediately after SetCooperativeLevel. Forced DSFLIP_WAITFORSYNC in DLBM_BACKVIDEO?? Is 1.4-17 usable?
