hmm, what do you want to say here?

yes, I think about changing DFBPoint to use Pango so we get proper
line-breaking, better text layout, RTL rendering for arabic scripts
and so on. Unfortunately I don't have much time and I don't expect
this to change soon. However I will definitely do my best to support
anyone who is willing to help.

IIRC, videos work since the very first days of DFBPoint.
