Hi,

Just thought i'd take the occasion to jump into that thread in order to say
thanx to dok for all that work (actually, creatin' such a thingy on spare time
and ALONE is quite impressive i must say :) and to express a few thoughts (and a
lot of prayers) about directfb:

actually, i must backup oliver's point, it IS quit undocumented, or at least doc
is hard to search in all this code, but since this is a one man project and
considering the huge work that's already been done noone can decently blame dok
for that...as a matter of fact i'd be glad to help puttin' all those
command-line options and optimization tricks down on paper, just need to get
familiar with (and to find!!!) those ;)

Just a humble suggestion: since dok can't assume documentation maintenance on
his own becoz of lack of time, what about creatin' a user's database containing
various experiments and optimization tricks used by testers, just like in the
old days of dxr3/Hollywood+ project (which seems quite down for now
unfortunatly) ? this way we could get easy access to documented (and tested)
options for each specific vidcard and config.

Like "i own a g550 (lucky bastard), those command-line options work well for me,
those don't, those have no effect, blablabla..."

Such a thingy (like a form on a webpage) would keep dok free from documentation
maintenance and allow newbies just like me to have easier access to workin'
command-line options...

i too ran into this annoyin problem, plus several other keyboard issues wich
seem to be related to keytables and NLS issues (i use fr layout and latin1
encoding): capslock inverted, dead keys...

Are there any nls or keytable options i should be aware off ?

I happen to have one of those (g550), actually been buyin' matrox for several
years now, they just rock!
I must say i WAS impressed first times i fired up xdirectfb, and i still
am...next big thing would be dualhead support (haven't tried it yet since my
lcd's panel is on repair, but i guess this must be huge to implement...)

Yet i have a very annoyin little problem with mplayer and directfb vo renderer,
i can't seem to be able to adjust transparency on those and mplayer video output
window is movin' slow as hell when playin video...i just guess i messed somethin
up considerin the nice screenshots you guys did with same vidcard :)
Again, any optimization tricks that can solve this ? and can another vo renderer
be used within directfb ?
