Hi,

we've prepared a new GTK+-DirectFB release based on GTK+-2.0.6.
It's available from the usual place:

 http://www.directfb.org/download/GTK+-DirectFB/

Updated versions of glib, pango and atk are available at

 ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v2.0

For this release we have reduced the changes to GTK+ and to the
backend-independant parts of GDK to a minimum. DirectFB-specific API
additions have been moved into the gdk-directfb namespace. The README
explains this in more details.

A number of special drawing functions have been implemented, most
importantly XOR drawing. We have reviewed the GdkProperty
implementation, extended support for visuals and added preliminary
colormap handling. An exit handler has been added that frees allocated
DirectFB resources. The latter change greatly improves useability with
the multi-application core of DirectFB.

I have also done a fair bit of testing with valgrind lately and as a
result most (if not all) memory leaks should be plugged.

My plan for the future of GTK+-DirectFB is to complete colormap
handling and then start to port it to the HEAD branch of GTK+ which
adds support for multiple screens and displays. We'll see how well
this maps to DirectFB.

I've also talked to Owen and we consider to merge the DirectFB backend
into the main GTK+ tree as soon as GTK+-2.2 has been released and the
CVS tree is branched again.

Salut, Sven
