you need the avifile version that is available from the DirectFB
website. Alternatively disable the avifile video provider by calling
configure with --disable-avifile.

it's supposed to work on all cards that have a working frame buffer
driver. This includes all cards that work with vesafb which means
pretty much every card out there. However you will only get hardware
acceleration for a smaller set of cards. There's a list of supported
cards on the DirectFB website.
