You will need to use a font that has all the glyphs you need. Since these are rare you will want to merge different fonts into one. The DirectFB font renderer cannot do this but you can use Pango and the PangoFT2 backend to achieve this goal. This is what GTK+-DirectFB does. Take a look at http://pango.org/.
