Run mplayer in verbose mode and look at the output.
1) Check if dfb geode driver is loaded - should be visible in dfb
startup message
2) Look if overlay is active - mplayer will report which layer is using
and there should be otheer layer than primary
3) Check colorspace used for output - if it is rgb than no hw
accelaration is used

P.S.: Can you send in private mplayer log when using -dr and -nodr
switch? There seems to be bug somewhere in the driver and I'm not able
to reproduce it myself
