No I am not linking statically. This is the commandline that i use to
configure and compile it.

./configure --prefix=/home/Install --enable-profiling --with-gfxdrivers=matrox

Besides it doesn't find the libmpeg3.h either although I've exported 
CFLAGS=-I/home/Install/include/libmpeg3 which has libmpeg3.h
