Apologies if this is in the archives somewhere (if it is, I couldn't find it).
Is it possible to run DirectFB for TV-Out on a Matrox Marvel G200 card? Last time I tried I got as far as compiling and trying to run: (*) parsing config file '/etc/directfbrc'. ---------------------- DirectFB v0.9.19 --------------------- (c) 2000-2002 convergence integrated media GmbH (c) 2002 convergence GmbH ----------------------------------------------------------- (*) Single Application Core. (with MMX support) (2003-08-20 23:34) (*) DirectFB/misc/memcpy: using MMX optimized memcpy() (*) DirectFB/InputDevice: Keyboard 0.9 (convergence integrated media GmbH) (*) MMX detected and enabled (*) DirectFB/GraphicsDevice: Matrox G200 0.6 (convergence integrated media GmbH) (*) DirectFB/Layer: Enabled 'FBDev Primary Layer'. df_video.c <81>: (#) DirectFBError [dfb->GetInputDevice( dfb, DIDID_MOUSE, &mouse )]: ID notfound! Might have something to do with the mouse, although the interesting bit comes when I try to run MPlayer with DirectFB: ... (*) DirectFB/Layer: Enabled 'FBDev Primary Layer'. Can't get CRTC2 layer - Not Supported! Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device. I realise that of course the G200 doesn't have a CRTC2. :) My question is: Is there a nice HOWTO or something on how to get this to work on a G200? I have matroxfb up and running fine, got Freevo on the box, but the next version (or MythTV) requires X, and apparently X-FBDev isn't all that fast (?). And yes, I'm a total DirectFB newbie, plus it's been a while since I played around with linux in general, apart from the occasional server updates.
