1) compile and insmod latest viafb from our CVS
2) compile and install DirectFB from CVS
3) run dfbinfo

you can see now if the generic driver is used or the accelerated cle266 driver

alternatively you can use vesafb and the cle266vgaio module instead of viafb, but viafb should be usable now and even faster because it sets mtrr's correctly.

Hi Denis,

        can you elaborate the steps necessary to get the new cle266 stuff
        to work? I checked out the current cvs and build it but I wasn't
        able to get any accelerated video (I think). What modules does it
        depend on? How do I verify everything is as it should be?
