Hello,

would it be possible to switch the TV output mode configured in /etc/directfbrc matrox-cable-type=(composite|scart-rgb|scart-composite) while a DirectFB application is running?
I'm thinking of using this in my HTPC (Freevo-based) to switch from the remote control between "composite" and "scart-rgb", just as on any ordinary VCR, DVD-player or satellite receiver, hoping that this toggles the RGB_ENABLE signal provided by the G400 TV-out ( please see http://dzeus.student.utwente.nl/g400/win2kfaq.html#scart_rgb ).
If I would build an electronic switch for the 12V line of the PC PSU, driven by this RGB_ENABLE signal, I could implement AV-mode switching if I supply theese 12V to pin 8 of the SCART (more about this if you look at the "SCART Control Signals" section at http://www.idiots.org.uk/vga_rgb_scart ).

It would be ok even if that would work from a stand-allone utility, not from DirectFB itself, maybe with some proper use of maven_set_regs(...). Ville, what's your opinion? I'm just asking before I start hacking something, maybe it's all just a bad idea.

Regards,
Lucian
