I'm trying to use qingy under gentoo. My problem is that the screen (on vt6) doesn't show the login dialog (nor the welcome dialog). I only see the background picture (default theme) and the buttons for shutdown, etc. The strangest thing is that I can login to a session if I enter my password blindly---the color corresponding to the active field shows! And the blindly selected session works as expected!
I have qingy-0.5.2 and DirectFB-0.9.20-r1. I re-emerged qingy after emerging DirectFB, which, BTW, was emerged with support for nvidia cards only; the "fbcon" USE variable was active.
I have qingy working OK on another computer, with an ATI radeon 7500 card.
