Hello all,
I am a newbie here, currently running directFB with a
Vanta nVidia board.
I compiled my Linux kernel (2.6.7) without any riva
module support, and afterwards installed the Linux
driver provided by nVidia
(NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1).
I have installed directfb snapshot version from 10th
October 2004, which is 0.9.21, which I compiled with
the following 'configure' options:
--with-gfxdriver=nvidia --enable-debug
DirectFB nvidia driver requires rivafb to work, therefore
you don't have hardware acceleration if the kernel
was compiled without riva module support.
The problem comes when executing some directfb
applications (e.g. 'text' from DirectFB tutorials).
The result of executing most of the (in this case
'text' tutorial) is as follows:
(-) [ NO NAME 1.738] ( 3844) DirectFB/FBDev:
dfb_fbdev_set_mode (surface: 0x804fe08, mode:
0x804ee38, buffermode: 2) (!!!) *** WARNING [fbdev
driver possibly buggy] *** [fbdev.c:1609 in
dfb_fbdev_set_mode()]
(!!!) *** ONCE [unsupported destination format] ***
[generic.c:3937 in gAcquire()]
Does anybody have a clue of why I get this error
message? After the error, the software stops running.
That's strange; could you report the output of `fbset -i`?
Please don't hesitate to ask me further information.
Thanks in advance,
Alberto Fernandez
