I'm not sure: I've only really just started getting to grips with it, now that 
I know I can get a decent picture with my hardware! A quick grep shows no 
mention of FusionSound that I can see. I think it just uses alsa directly. It 
sounds like Nicolas Huillard has good A-V sync on a VT1622 _without_ the 
field-sync patches to viafb and DirectFB, so I don't know whether this is 
caused by the field-sync patches or the different encoder chips behaving 
slightly differently.
