Thanks for your help; will do my best and report the testing results here. BTW would you mind if I ask you to attach the all the patches against patcher2k? I have them but I am not sure if they are correct/I am correct ;) (feel like making some mistakes here..)

I only use vdr + softdevcie with DirectFB. I even didn't compile df_xine. What I'd say is that 100% CPU + framedrops with DFB might be related to WAITONSYNC (ie. the patch from Mark Adams). Colordepth is set inside /etc/directfbrc Mine has the following : mode=720x576 depth=32 pixelformat=ARGB disable-module=lirc disable-module=joystick disable-module=cle266 no-vt > How about for your M10 box? Do you think is it possible to use holly MPEG > acceleration of CLE266 with dfb and how to enable this coloring issue ? I get 50% CPU (+/- 15%, depending on stream) with software decoding of DVB streams (mainly 720x576) Hardware decoding with Xine with XvMC (hardware accelerated) is reported to give 5-10% CPU. > Dennis has released a patch against 0.9.20 (I guess it is for testing > purpose so it is against an older release of dfb) and patch againts > libmpeg3. Truely, I was not in capable of understanding whether thess > patches makes the MPEG acceleration or not? IMHO, the correct open-source way is to get XvMC out of the open-source Unichrome driver, and get it to work without X, then integrate it in ffmepg or DirectFB or something else. The goal is to get as much audience as possible, outside the X world (thus ffmpeg, gstreamer et al.) We still need someone skillful/timeful to do this ;-) > Shortly, I see very interest in DFB and EPIA, but I could not find any way > how to work these together with my newbie knowledge. I don't know this particular board, but it seems to be a kind of M10k (ie. CLE266, 800MHz) : it should work, don't change it. > I am asking your personal experince with EPIA avs DFB. Thanks. I hope I've helped a bit. -- NH _______________________________________________ directfb-users mailing list [email protected] http://mail.directfb.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/directfb-users _______________________________________________ directfb-users mailing list [email protected] http://mail.directfb.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/directfb-users
