Hello.

Has anyone gotten direcfb to work accelerated with $(subject) video card? After hours of trial and error and digging on the net I can't get anything useful. I can run all the test applications, but all of them report DirectFB/GraphicsDevice: MMX Software Rasterizer 0.6 ... which I guess is not what should be displayed if acceleration is enabled. I am on Debian Sarge and have tried both libdirectfb-0.9-20 and libdirectfb-0.0-22 with no success. Kernel version is 2.6.8. Loading
radeonfb gives:

radeonfb: Retreived PLL infos from BIOS
radeonfb: Reference=27.00 MHz (RefDiv=12) Memory=260.00 Mhz, System=183.00 MHz
radeonfb: Reversed DACs detected
radeonfb: Monitor 1 type CRT found
radeonfb: EDID probed
radeonfb: Monitor 2 type no found
radeonfb: Power Management enabled for Mobility chipsets
radeonfb: ATI Radeon LW DDR SGRAM 32 MB

fbset -i gives:

mode "1024x768-60"
    # D: 65.003 MHz, H: 48.365 kHz, V: 60.006 Hz
    geometry 1024 768 1024 768 16
    timings 15384 168 8 29 3 144 6
    accel true
    rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/0
endmode

I am interested in using hardware alph-blending for an application I am developing and so far none of the options I tried (plain framebuffer, sdl, X11), except OpenGL give any good results. Does anyone know what library besides OpenGL I can use to get decent real-time alpha blending in 1024x768. Software blending gives me about 2 fps!
I can't use OpenGL because I have to be able to also play video files.

Thanks in advance.

cheers,
face
