Yes I have done make install for directfb-extra package..and running a player utility example df_video in directfbexamples package .the movie file which I am trying to run works fine in quicktime player .also same error results for any movie file. Please suggest where I may possibly be wrong .please reply..thanks a ton in advance for any suggestion..

Maybe the mov you are trying to play is corrupted.
