Is there a way to create a subsurface with a different set of blitting functions than the originating surface?  I am not sure if I am asking that right, but I have an argb surface, and I need a subsurface of that to blit a lot faster (ie no transparency support, and anything else I can remove).  The faster I can make that subsurface blit the better.

 

All of my surfaces are in front system memory and I am blitting from an argb surface to an rgb16 surface.  The subsurface is on the argb surface but the subsurface does not need all of the extra drawing features, so ideally there would just be a call to an argb_to_rgb16 function.
