That's the same as mine: VT1622. The M is for Macrovision.

Practically, I used tig (http://ssl.bulix.org/projects/tig/) to generate
test images, dfbshow to show them on TV screen, and an SSH terminal to
run them along with the timing tuning program.
Make sure you can load/unload the viafb driver by not modprobing fbcon
(which will handle the console on VGA, thus locking the viafb driver).
