gtk+2.9.3 or 2.9.6 breaks at compilation time ? but, as part of this compilation, it
makes another objetcs lib like gdk, directfb...
If You try to use this objetcts to link an static application you will fail when try to
run it getting that message error. I asked this topic at gtk-devev : it needs a patch
So Im working about it... there are many references broken at link time.
I dont understand exactly why are there and why are not those functions in any file.
I suggest to you, if you want and to any people that whant too, build a path for gtk+
 with DFB backend.
This topic at gtk dev has a Not urgent priority.

 Cheers,
 Luis

Subject: [directfb-users] how to open display on board of arm platform?

directfb-users,

I've cross compiled the GTK+DirectFB with the followings

glib-2.11.3
atk-1.10.3
freetype-2.1.9
libxml2-2.6.23
fontconfig-2.3.95
zlib-1.2.3
libpng-1.2.10
directFB-1.0.0-rc1
cairo-1.1.6
pango-1.13.1
gtk+-2.9.3

and helloworld,an example GTK named helloworld for arm platform, after I ran it on board of arm platform, it said

[root@(none) /]# helloworld
     =======================|  DirectFB 1.0.0-rc1  |=======================
          (c) 2001-2006  United Cultures of Earth - go for outer space!
