Hello,

I have a problem when installing DirectFB when the target computer is
not the one compiling the library.
What I'm trying to do is the following : given a PC with development
tools (gcc and the like) but on which I do not have root access and
another PC which cannot compile and on which I would like to install
DirectFB.

I "./configure && make" without problems, but I cannot do a "make
install" to the system directories (/usr/local or /usr) as I lack root
access.
So I tried a "./configure --prefix=/temporary/blabla/blabla && make &&
make install" but when I copy the resulting libraries
from /temporary/blabla/blabla/lib/* to the other PC /usr/lib
(or /usr/local/lib) and try running a sample DirectFB application, it
tells me it cannot find various files in /temporary/blabla/blabla/...
which is correct since they are now in /usr/lib/...

Is it possible to fool the installer and do a "make install" in a
temporary directory (to gather the necessary files) and then transfer
them to another PC but in another directory ?

I have tried the various ./configure options or modifying the Makefile
directly but with no success.
I know the easy way would be to get a root access on the compiling PC
and then making an install, copying the files and removing them from the
PC, but the DirectFB compile process is part of a bigger batch process
and it would not be very practical to do.

Thank you very much for your assistance
