Dear All, I would be most interested to hear from any other DirectFB users who are using, or considering using, the Adobe/Boost GIL library. I am considering writing an adaptor.
If you're not familiar with GIL, it's a lightweight C++ library that provides not much more than a way of describing in-memory images, or sub-images, with various pixel formats, and ways of iterating through the pixels. It looks like a potentially good "standard" way of interfacing between libraries that actually "do something", like DirectFB, ImageMagick, etc. etc. etc. Without such a standard, writing an application that mixes-and-matches the best that each library has to offer is more difficult than it should be.
