Dear All, I have a couple of VIA boards. When I started using the first of them them I installed Dave Boucher's kernel patch from http://davesdomain.org.uk/viafb/ to provide a VIA framebuffer device. At the time this seemed like the most actively-maintained of about 3 VIA framebuffer kernel drivers that I found; however, today it seems that that website is inaccessible. I don't know if that is a permanent or temporary problem.
I'm now trying to get my second VIA board working. This is a slightly newer board with a CN700 chipset, and I'm unable to even change the screen mode using fbset. Guessing that it might be because of the newer chips I looked for a newer version of the driver, and found that Dave's website is gone. So, before I spend any more time debugging this, I thought I'd ask here whether any other VIA users have any comments about the best kernel drivers to use: maybe the one in the DirectFB repository is now better than Dave's one? When I get beyond this most basic step, I'm hoping to generate TV-format video from the VGA port, a bit like this: http://ryoandr.free.fr/english.html - has anyone done this? Am I mad? Totally unrelated question: anyone here interested in this product: http://www.openpandora.org/index.php ? Regards, Phil. _______________________________________________ directfb-users mailing list directfb-users@directfb.org http://mail.directfb.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/directfb-users
