I am not sure, but i think that nothing ever happened. The above mail is from 2002, but to the best of my knowledge nothing has happened since them with regard to xdirectfb, altough debian hads been using directfb and gtk-directfb for the graphical version of the debian-installer. That said, is there really an advantage of using directfb over a plain xorg package ?
