Hello all, once more in reply to my own mail: > On Fri, 11 Jul 2008, I wrote: > > > DirectFB1.1.1 is compiled with all graphics drivers, yet it always uses > > the software rasterizer. >
[for the configuration and log excerpts, please refer to my previous two e-mails] I how have got the same - negative - results with DirectFB 1.1.1, 1.2.0_rc2 and 1.0.0 both on my original Gentoo installation and on a freshly installed Ubuntu. Each and every one of these systems behaves ecaxtly the same - DirectFB uses the "MMX software rasterizer" instead of the Unichrome driver. Isn't there any way to either force DirectFB to use a specific driver or get it to report _why_ it uses the software rasterizer even though it's clearly running on a EPIA board w/Unichrome or Unichrome Pro chipset? So far, all information I found on the 'net has proven to be utterly useless, as none of the examples work on my two mainboards. No matter what I do with the kernel driver, DerectFB always uses the slow-as-hell (on those boards, in any case) software rasterizer. I don't know how to proceed any further - am I the only one who ever had problems getting DirectFB to use the correct hardware driver?
