Dear All, I'm trying to understand what the DirectFB video support can do, having never done anything with video before.
Obviously it can support playing video "layers" in graphics hardware. But I'm unclear whether I can also use it with, for example, my V4L2 USB webcam. Is it possible to open this device and copy frames of video from it to the screen? I've had a quick go, and it gets as far as the VIDIOC_S_FBUF ioctl. Looking at what that does, it doesn't seem something that it should need to do to just read frames from the camera. So I suspect that I'm expecting more from this than I should be. In that case, if anyone can suggest somewhere to look for an easy-to-use V4L2 library then I'd be most grateful. Thanks, Phil. _______________________________________________ directfb-users mailing list directfb-users@directfb.org http://mail.directfb.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/directfb-users
