I suggest to ask your question in a framebuffer mailinglist, e.g. linux.fbdev.user. Alternatively, you can check your kernel sources: /usr/src/linux/Documentation/fb/intelfb.txt contains a list of the supported Intel chipsets. You need at least 2.6 I think.
