My q entry looks like this:
keycode  24 = Q = SMALL_Q CAPITAL_Q AT AT
AT is the @ sign, which is mapped under the Q on a german keyboard.
check the DirectFB file for the DIKS (symbol) and DIKI (identifier) 
entries that you need to put in the file.
note that keycode must be a decimal number.
