Firstly, you should check the graphics support list here:
http://directfb.org/index.php?path=Support%2FGraphics
If it's not on the list, maybe it will be rough to do that.On the contrary, you
could try acroding to these below:
1. rebuild your kernel, and compile the nVidia driver staticly in the kenerl.
2. reboot from the new kernel,and add this at the end of the list
vmlinuz-2.6.X video=1024x768...@60,accel,mtrr
initrd initrd-2.6.x.img
3. check if there is a penguin on top left of the terminal at the start time.
If you get it ,bingo, you make a hit.

Hi guys,
I am now working on install a Nvidia GTX285 graphic card linux driver into
Ubuntu 8.10.
But I don't want to use X window system in it.
I have checked the readme of Nvidia GTX285 graphic card linux driver, and found
that this driver should be installed under X window system.
I want to use directfb to replace X window system in my system. But I don't
know if it can work.
Who can help me?
