But linux is detecting the device being inserted without a problem. Just 
wondering how dfb processes this device creation. As I said, if key is inserted 
before dfb starts then all is fine.

It's linux who manages new devices. Not DirectFB. 

This is most probably related to something on your kernel or USB drivers.
