I did indeed, I use cron to run the command - the problem reoccurred with last nights backups: /backup/helios# du -csh 2* 23G 20070226 23G 20070227 23G 20070301 18M 20070302 20M 20070303 21M 20070304 31M 20070305 17G 20070306 84G total /backup/selene# du -csh 2* 29G 20070227 29G 20070301 20K 20070302 20K 20070303 20K 20070304 36K 20070305 25G 20070306 82G total Would it help to put logfiles somewhere for public consumption? There is nothing unusual about the target machines, they're both running debian sarge with a fairly standard setup running apache2/mysql.
