Hello All

Trying to work on a problem where dirvish is backing up files from a
Windows 2003 server. Backups are happening fine (via windows rsync
server on internal network). The problem I'm running into is a weird
windows permission issue, where directories will lose 'linux' type
ownership.

Example:
V:\Personal Folders\Joe

If I open up cygwin and do a ls -al on that directory I would see:
drwx------+ 7 Joe Domain Users 0 Apr 8 Joe

But for some reason, the security will get messed up, which won't
affect Joe in anyway, but my dirvish backup will want to continue
backing up the directory.. because the ownership is gone. When this
happens, I can do a ls -al and this is what I would see:
d---------+ 7 ???????? Domain Users 0 Apr 8 Joe

When this occurs, the ownership and permissions of the directory or
file is 'different' than what dirvish saw before and will back it up.
Of course, now I'm transferring the same files over and over again. I
usually call the Windows admin and he re-sets the permissions on the
directory. This kinda sucks because I have a huge backup to take after
that since changes recursively went down the tree.

What I would like to do is ignore ownership and permissions in my
vaults. Is this an option? So I never have to worry about this again?

I'm currently using the following:
dirvish-1.2.1
rsync-2.6.9-r3

Thanks in advance! Let me know if you need any other information.
hanj
