Paul, I ran ssh-keygen as root on the desktop and did not enter a passphrase. Yet, when I try to initialize a vault I'm still getting a permissions error: [root@salmo /mnt/backup/salmo-data/dirvish]# dirvish --vault salmo-data --init Permission denied (publickey). salmo-data:default pre-client failed (65280) I don't see anything in master.conf to resolve this permissions issue.
