My radio shark works wonderfully and I'm very happy with it!!! I
don't even have it right by the window though I do have it a few feet
from the computer--being near the compute will affect it. It actually
comes in better for am stations than my ordinary radios. I'd say your
environment has a lot to do with your problems--no windows and a
bunch of computer and router noise is kind of stacking the deck
against it--but one can't unfortunately always choose the environment
one wants. I do imagine results will vary so I'm glad it's worked out
well for me. Maybe an antenna extender will help you. You also might
use a usb extender if that would allow you to put it in a spot not so
near computers.
Well, well!!! I just plugged headphones into my radioshark and it's
coming through loud and clear even though I don't have the
application on. I guess I didn't understand that the radio is always
on once you plug it into the usb port; you just don't hear it through
your computer speakers until you run the application but it's sitting
there on all the time. Then when you turn on the application you hear
it both through the headphones and your computer speakers, so the
headphone jack does not keep radioshark from being heard through the
speakers. I guess I should have realized the radio would always be on
when plugged into usb but somehow it didn't occur to me. I'm a bit
puzzled as to why you are hearing your computer through the
radioshark headphone jack; all I hear through the jack is the
radioshark itself.
