@tlopex This PR has been superseded by #19864, which was merged and closed
#19690. That change also makes the `target_shape > 1` guard conditional on
`align_corners=True`, so the main code issue discussed here is already addressed
on main.
I’ll close this PR to avoid keeping a duplicate/dirty PR open.
