Which is great if you have a short cable run between the DBSRX and the
signal source. However, for
any applications where noise-figure really matters, the only place you
can reasonably put the LNA is
right at the feed. This is how EME, meteor, and UHF weak-signal guys
in ham radio do it, and also
how radio astronomers do it. Any loss in front of the LNA will
degrade the noise figure dramatically.
